We had a good turn out for this beach clean, with approx 14 volunteers turning up. The weather was good and we worked from 10:30 through to midday. We managed to collect 22 bags of rubbish, lots of sweet paper, drink tops, cigaret butts, and old rope.

Thanks to everyone who turned up to help, it was a great effort.
The bags will be collected by Ceredigion council workers either today or tomorrow.

I hope you have all been enjoying the summer holidays despite the somewhat changeable weather we have been having.
 
I haven't arranged a beach clean for a while as lots of people have been away/busy but here are the details for the next one. I hope that lots of you can make it as there does seem to be quite a lot of plastic rubbish on the beach.

Location: opposite Youth Hostel and working northwards from there

Jamie, Devan and Macaulie came to visit Ynyslas today, and decided that they would like to help with our Beach cleans. They took some bags over to the beach and managed to collect 6 bags full in less than two hours. Well done boys.

The usual suspects turned out for the Beach Clean organised by CCW at Ynyslas.

We split into separate groups and worked our way along the beach front, as the Wardens had cleaned the estuary car park in the morning.

The weather was great and Martyn and I even managed to get a helping hand from a young lad in the dunes who ran around spotting rubbish for us :D.

The last beach clean we had was well attended - and we managed to collect 14 bags of rubbish. There wasn't a lot of big stuff - more little bits of plastic, bottles, cans and lots and lots of bits of string from the fishing boats. So, those 14 bags took quite a lot of filling!!

Well done, and thanks, to all who came along. Unfortunately the weather didn't play along with our idea of a picnic so everyone split up into small groups to go and get lunch wherever rather than braving the weather on...
