Borth & Ynyslas Beach Clean

Beach Clean 26 February 2011

February 17, 2011

Hi All, have you noticed the days are getting longer? We'll have Summer Time too at the end of March!

Further to our fantastic record breaking cleans last year and January 2011 alongside the golf course, we've been told there's a lot of litter waiting for us on the beach across from the Youth Hostel.

Might be a good idea if we give this area the once over next.

So please join us, if you can, on Saturday February 26th any time in the afternoon from 13.00. - pick up a bag, hoop, litter picker and gloves and spend an hour doing something worthwhile, cleaning a bagful of rubbish off our beautiful beach!

Suggestion is to meet opposite the Youth Hostel and work north and south from there. If the tide is too high or the weather really poor we can reschedule, please check your email late friday or early saturday just to be sure.

If you are out walking with the dog or perhaps checking progress on the new sea defences and you come across an area you think needs a clean, do let us know and we can arrange a session this spring.

Look forward to seeing you all a week on saturday

If you would like to receive our mails please let me know at sarah@borthynyslasbeachclean.org.uk.

Beach Clean 23 January 2011

January 24, 2011
Thanks to the 15 people who came along on Sunday 23rd January and picked up 21 bags of rubbish alongside the golf course. For once it was a lovely day - no rain - and there was plenty of rubbish to find.

It was a really sociable event and it was great to see so many people there.

If you weren't able to come but you would like to help clean the beach, then why not take a bag over the next time you go for a walk and fill it. You can leave it next to any of the public waste bins. If...

Ynslas Beach Cleans for 2010

December 21, 2010
My friend Tom and I go to Ynyslas most Mondays.  We usually collect 2 bags, 2/3 full, as you know they get heavy and can tear. I figure we have missed out on about 8 Mondays this year, maybe 10.

Tom is disabled, but loves to walk and carry, so he carries the bags, and I do the picking.

We have our own little spot, and once that is done we move off to other parts of Ynyslas.

Beach Clean 4th and 5th December

December 6, 2010
The weather was a bit showery on Saturday, but was glorius on Sunday.
We continued to collect rubbish from the area alongside the Borth & Ynyslas Golf Club, and the Club agreed to take the bags away for us, which was a great help.
We managed to collect 22 bags in total. Another great effort from everyone who came to help.

Beach Clean at RNLI on 25th September

October 1, 2010
Last Saturday Mary Scott organised a beach clean-up in response to an email from the Keep Wales Tidy man, Richard Thomas, regarding the Keep Wales Tidy Week.

The response to the posters put around the village was very positive and about 15 volunteers, including staff from the Bardsey, collected 16 bags of rubbish from the area in front of the Borth RNLI lifeboat station.
